16 Best Bullet Travel Journal Pages To Inspire Your Next Trip

Bullet journals aren’t just for everyday use. They are awesome to use while traveling. There are so many unique travel bullet journal pages that you can use to inspire your next trip. I started out with 10, but there are so many good ones, I went to 16. Surprise! Here are 16 of the best travel bullet journal pages I‘ve used:

1. Trip Itinerary Page

Once you’ve done all the research about what you want to see, now it’s time to make decisions about what you want to do and write it in this travel bullet journal page. This can be done so many fun ways. It’s a mixture of fun spread, with all the info you should need on your tip. Make sure to include here when you arrive and leave, if you’re flying put flight times and dates. Then add in what you’ll be doing each day. I really like this spread because it allows me to visually see how much or how little I have planned. When traveling there is always the possibility of planning too much, or too little. You don’t want to plan so little that you’re trying to do research about where to go during your trip, but you don’t want to plan so much that you leave no room for spontaneity. This is a delicate balance and one that can only really be solved through trial and error. So make your itinerary with your best guess and then when you return from you trip, look at it and ask yourself if you liked the pace, if you could have added more or less. By doing this you’ll learn so much about what to do in the future and have a cool travel bullet journal spread to look at for years to come.

2. Travel Savings Tracker

Traveling does cost money and takes some saving to afford. You might have to skip out on a coffee or two, so this tracker is a nice reminder of what you’re sacrificing for. I like to theme my tracker to my trip. Some fun ones I saw online was a pineapple for a tropical trip and a tree for a hiking trip. I love to add illustration in my travel bullet journal, especially to pages with topics that could otherwise be quite dull. Have fun with this one and know that your savings will pay off!

3. Packing List Page

Packing isn’t always fun for me. It can be stressful because I always think I’m going to forget something! Each trip is unique so special thought needs to go into what to pack. What season will it be? What will you be doing? and on and on. There are also those things that you take on very trip without fail: underwear, toiletries, headphones, your favorite pair of travel earrings that you love but wouldn’t be heartbroken if they got lost, etc. Making a packing list for your trip can be fun and ease a lot of stress. You can also use a previous packing list for reference and then add the things you need. Once you have it, it will be so easy to pack and you can focus your mind on more important things like your list of ice cream shops to visit.

I wrote a guide about how to create the ultimate packing list page for your travel bullet journal. Take a look here for inspiration.

4. Trip Countdown Page

The anticipation and the waiting is so hard, right?! Once I start planning a trip it feels like the day is never going to come. That’s why I love the trip countdown page. It’s a reminder that the trip is coming up and it motivates me to do all the things that are not as fun, so that I can get to the trip date. Planning this page is fun too. Like the savings tracker, I like to theme it according to the trip.

5. Shopping List Page

Buying souvenirs is so fun and planning on which souvenirs to buy is even more fun. What have you read about in your research that you want to buy? Who do you want to buy souvenirs for? Even if your not much of a souvenir person, this is a great page to have in your travel bullet journal because then you don’t have to think about the logistics on the trip, you an just enjoy browsing. I’ve taken trips n the past where I didn’t have this page in my travel journal and I forgot to buy something for my niece! Another time, when I was in Ireland, I didn’t plan on what to look for so I kept ending up in tourist shops. If that’s what you want then great! But it wasn’t what I wanted, but since I hadn’t done the planning. I didn’t know what I wanted or where to find it. I just knew that wasn’t it. So frustrating! Save yourself the frustration and make a shopping list page in your travel bullet journal.

6. Things to Do Page

When I’m researching a new place, I always find a ton of things I want to do. On this page, you can capture and organized those things so you don’t forget to do any of them as you’re planning your itinerary. On this page in my travel bullet journal I like to separate them into categories like: restaurants, museums, beaches, etc. whatever makes sense for that trip. Then you can see everything at a glance and add it to your itinerary. This is also great if you have a free afternoon on your trip and you find yourself needing a place to eat. It’s right there on your things to do page!

7. Best Bookstores/Coffee Shop/Ice Cream Spread

Some things to do need a special page all there own. Especially for the thing you love the most. I love to visit as many bookstores as I can in each place I travel. So before the trip, I look up each one and make a spread of what they are and where they are so I can easily visit them as I’m each neighborhood. I like to include the name of each place and a map of where they are. It looks great and is an easy reference

8. Neighborhood Map Page

Sometimes when I’m visiting a city, my favorite part is to just wander around each neighborhood. Each neighborhood has it’s own feel, its own special cultural and I like to spend an afternoon just exploring. Think about New York City: Brooklyn is distinct from Queens, which is distinct from Midtown. Each it very unique and part of the fun of going to NYC is to experience how there are many little cities in one large city. Each neighborhood also has special things to visit. This is why I love to include this page in my travel bullet journal. I draw a map just of that neighborhood and then list all the different things that I want to see in that neighborhood. That includes restaurants, stores, parks and museums. My favorite days are spent using my personal map to wander. I always find new things and new experiences!

9. Inspiring Quote Page

Travel quotes are so inspiring. Sometimes you can get lost in the details of travel and forget the bigger picture. I like to include a hand lettered inspiring quote page to my bullet travel journal to remind me and inspire me. Sometimes I find these quotes before and sometimes during and sometimes I find one that really reminds me of the experiences of the trip, so I add it after. Anytime you do it you’ll be happy you did. It adds an extra but of beauty and inspiration to your travel bullet journal.

10. Illustrated Things to See Page

It’a always good to have a page of things to see, but even more fun to have it illustrated. This can be with doodles or with printed pictures. Either way, its fun to have a visual idea of where you’re going to go and what your going to see. Plus, it gives the look and feel of the place our going instantly in your journal!

11. Trip Goals Page

Many people don’t think about it too much, but every trip has goals. Some trips are about relaxing on the beach, some trips are about seeing a museum or location that has been on your bucket list forever, others are about really getting to spend quality time with loved ones. Your trip goals might be one of these things or a combination. Whatever your goals, it’s good to write them down in a beautiful spread in your travel bullet journal. This way you can look at it and remind yourself why you’re going on the trip. When I look at my goals, it helps me plan what I’m going to do. If my trip goals are about spending time with my family, I plan a fun activity we can do together, instead of a museum that we’ll all separate and do our own thing. If my goal is to relax, and spend quality time outdoors, I’ll plan a lot of time for that and will be reminded to not pack my schedule as I do with other trips. Goals keep you grounded and focused, so this page in your travel bullet journal should be a beautiful guide for your trip.

12. Movies to Watch/Books to Read/Music to Listen to

This travel bullet journal spread is so fun! So much of what I love about traveling is learning about each place I’m going. Before the trip, I research books and movies set in that place and music from the area. Then I add it to this page and use it as a reference to read/watch/listen as I prepare for the trip. When I do this I enjoy the trip so much more and I feel a deeper understanding and connection to the place. Make you own and see, its really a lot of fun.

13. Memories Collage Page

This is not a typical travel bullet journal page since its a bit more chaotic than many others. I like the balance it brings I always think organized should be balanced with a bit of the chaotic. Especially when you travel. You don’t want things to be too predictable. This page is easy and fun to do. You can choose any theme, it could be a collage about a day on the trip or traveling to a special destination or monument. Don’t think too much about it. Just let your inspiration and intuition guide you.

14. Gratitude Tracker

A gratitude tracker for me is essential, as I talk about it a lot here! For me, it keeps me grounded while I travel. It helps me remember what a special thing it is to travel and to learn about other cultures. Traveling always reminds me of how connected we all are as humans and keeping a gratitude tracker helps me stay in touch with that.

15. Memories A Day Tracker Page

This is a simple, clean, photo spread that captures a moment from each day of your trip. Use your Polaroid camera or iphone to capture one moment and paste it in your journal at the end of each night. At the end of our trip you’ll have a fun spread that captures the silly memories of your trip.

16. “Best Thing That Happened Each Day” Page

This page captures the magic of the trip in such a unique way. It’s simple but effective. Each night you write one sentence about the best thing that happened that day. It can be big or small. Seeing something you’ve always wanted to see or having a great talk with your travel companion. Its just a simple sentence. But as each day goes by and you add more and more sentences for each day, at the end you have a beautiful picture of the trip that you can look back on again and again.

There are endless different pages you can include in your travel bullet journal. These are just a few ideas to get you started.
