Home Printers

A huge part of travel journaling is preparing your journal before you go on your trip and putting on the finishing touches when you return. My favorite, indispensable tool for this is my home printer. I use it to print maps, travel itineraries I paste in my travel notebook, photos of the places I want to see. For me, travel journals are as much visual as written and while I love to use my supplies while I’m on the road, using my home printer to prepare my journal before I go, and then print out bigger photos when I return is a huge plus for me. I also use it to create DIY journals, especially for kids. You can use any printer for this, but after I invested in a high quality printer, I loved the results it brought to my journal.

My Favorite Printer

Canon TS9521 Crafting Printer. It has so many awesome features and it prints photos beautifully. It has 5 Individual Inks that are ready for all types of creative projects. And it also prints photos that will be protected from fading for up to 100 years in an album.  The quality is just beautiful.

Less Expensive Option

A slightly less expensive printer is the Canon TS8220. It has a similar quality without all the bells and whistles. If used with the right paper and ink, it prints beautiful photos.

Photo Paper

My favorite photo paper is the this Canon Semi Gloss. It prints beautiful, glossy photos that look lovely in my journal.

Ink

Both of these printers use Canon 281 printer ink. The colors on the ink are beautiful. I like buying the XL because it lasts longer between when I have to replace the cartridges.
